About Our Practice
Cross Bronx Optical is a thriving private practice that has provided the community of Bronx with quality care for over 20 years. We are committed to educating each of our patients on the importance of eye care health and an experience tailored to their individual needs and lifestyle goals. Our practice takes pride in providing a family-friendly environment so that our patients are happy and comfortable in our care. We have built a strong reputation within our community and generations of families come to visit us. Our patient population ranges from all ages with the majority of our services being 65% medical and 45% routine. We use up-to-date technology which allows our team of professionals to effectively diagnose issues and provide the best visual outcomes for our patients.
We are looking for a talented optometrist to join our family practice. You will be working alongside an optician, technicians, and our supporting front administrative team. Our professional technicians handle pre-testing which allows our Optometrists to fully focus on patient care. On average, our team will see about 20 patients per day. We have four locations to work from, all of them having easy access to free parking. Our offices each come with an exam room fully equipped with devices such as Humphrey Matrix visual fields, fundus photography, and electronic projectors.

Optometrist Job Duties & Responsibilities
We are searching for a talented OD to join our growing practice! You'll use your clinical and interpersonal skills to provide high-quality vision care to our patients. The ideal candidate for our optometrist position is someone who is personable, efficient, and reliable. Candidates who have experience or knowledge with medical services, medical billing, or Spanish is a huge plus! But not required. We will provide mentorship and training from our professional team to help develop your clinical skill set.
This is a full or part-time opportunity with flexible scheduling!
Your regular duties will include:
- Perform comprehensive eye exams
- Diagnose and assist in the treatment of ocular disease
- Prescribe corrective lenses
- Provide pre- and post-operative care to surgical patients
- Promote healthy vision by counseling and educating patients
- Maintain detailed patient records regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress
- Handle eye care emergencies
Optometrist Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree
- Valid state license to practice optometry
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of patient personalities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong sense of workplace professionalism and personal ethics
- Customer-service orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
