Our Story

Founded by optical pioneer, Richard Golden, SEE was a vision of the future of eyewear circa 1998. Sparked by the idea of creating a unique brand and frustrated by the high cost of licensing existing brands, Golden created his own collection of bold, high quality, leading edge eyewear. He wanted customers to have the ability to curate a “wardrobe” of glasses for themselves and have fun in the process.

The creation of a boutique free of locked cases was an entirely new concept in optical retailing. Golden wanted SEE to be a friendly and inviting place for people to shop, a place where they could feel good about snagging two or three (or more!) pairs of compliment inducing glasses.

SEE works with the most creative artisans worldwide to produce original designs that are exclusive to SEE, in ultra-limited quantities. The result is an expressive and truly refreshing eyewear experience.

We will create memorable shopping experiences and connect with our customers in an authentic way. Our battle cry is to "surprise and delight" both our employees and our customers, We will develop emotional connections while delivering authentic and unmatched service both internally and externally to create passionately engaged followers.

We will become part of the fabric of the communities we thrive in while raising money and awareness for our pet causes, having the most fun possible while doing it.
