Heartland Eye Consultants

Our Story

Heartland Eye Consultants is an established specialty optometric practice. We are unique, as we are an OD only referral center who specializes in treating binocular vision disorders, learning related vision disorders, acquired brain injury, and we provide sports vision services. We also provide low vision services, ocular disease, scleral contacts fitting, and treatment of neuro-ophthalmic diseases.

Our mission is to operate at our highest scope of practice and to provide our referral network a safe place to refer patients who need specialty care. Our goals are to promote and protect referring doctors (ensuring their patients get back to them), educate our patients (we spend a lot of time in the exam lane on patient education), and to support our profession.

We see many challenging and rewarding cases daily and every day is a learning opportunity. The collaboration among doctors in our office and with the referral network at large helps build a sense of community and fosters a culture of continued development as a clinician.

Fun Fact: Optometrists usually find it interesting that we are an OD only referral center who provides VT, Low Vision, ABI, Ocular Disease, Scleral CL services all under one roof. We have no optical in our practice and no surgeons on staff! We love bouncing ideas/cases/information off each other at lunch. With multiple specialties you have a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th opinion "in-house"
