When you are finished with optometry school, you're going to feel some discomfort entering the field and being alone.
Seeing patients without supervision is, of course, going to be scary, but you've got to be fearless. From 6 months out before graduation, start training your mindset that this is your patient and that you are in charge!
Many optometry students have the fear of not finding the job that they like. Your first optometry job might not be your final job, and that's ok! It's expected that you will have some variation and some stepping-stones along your path.
Get experience and find out what you enjoy and what gets you excited to be practicing optometry.
Take your time to gather the data about what is important to you.
From there you can decide where you best fit and what is your ideal practice modality.
